What gutter guards do

Gutter guards are covers or screens installed over the gutter opening. Water drops through, while leaves and most debris slide off or dry out and blow away. They cut down on how often the gutters need cleaning and lower the chance of a clog backing water up under your shingles. We install guards on new seamless gutters and on existing gutters that are in good shape. Before adding guards to existing gutters we check the pitch, hangers and seams, because a guard on a sagging gutter only hides the problem.

Which guard is right for my house?

We carry a few styles, from aluminum mesh screens to solid covers. The right one depends on the tree cover around your home, your roof pitch and your budget. We bring samples to the estimate and show you how each one sits on your gutter.

Common questions

Will I ever have to clean my gutters again?

Guards cut cleaning way down, but no guard stops everything. Pine needles, seed pods and roof grit can still collect on top. Plan on a quick rinse or brush-off about once a year, which is a lot easier than scooping out a full gutter.

Can you put guards on my existing gutters?

Yes, as long as the gutters are solid and pitched correctly. If they are not, we tell you and give you the option to repair or replace first.

Do guards hold up in heavy Texas rain?

The guards we install are made for heavy flow. Steep roofs and valleys that concentrate water may need a splash guard or a larger gutter, which we point out at the estimate.

How much do gutter guards cost?

Price depends on the style of guard and the length of gutter. We measure on site and give you a written price. The estimate is free.
